We decided to do the latter and took it upon us to change things for everyone who step into Northeast India. Mezenga is a bootstrapped venture by a solopreneur and a backpacker. So been there done that, felt the pain and strive to solve it.
It’s been asked many times, why the name Mezenga and what it means?
Mezenga is a herb that is found in Assam though it’s not unique to Assam. The beauty of the herb is its nature of malleability. Mezenga as a herb can be used with any vegetable or meat and can make it taste better. It can be used as raw or dried, for boiling, stewing, sautéing, and frying. Like Mezenge – the herb, we too aspire to bring our best and impact everyone in the best possible way.
We are driven by values
We don’t encourage alcohol or any form of drugs in our hostels. As an organization, we encourage a community that grows together and have fun too. A community that likes traveling, and exploring new places, discusses how they can save the earth, take action on sustainability and support each other.
In a world that saw unprecedented times, some of us lost our loved ones and some of us are lucky to be able to save our loved ones. Being thankful for what we have, being considerate about small things, being respectful to others, and being happy is all we need.
